Alvah - xRealm Warlock

Postby alvah on Tue Feb 02, 2010 1:02 am

General Information
Name: Lee
Age: 22
Country: UK
Occupation: IT Advertising
Spec: Demo & Affliction
/Played: 189 Days
Armory: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet ... r&cn=Alvah planning on getting my 2nd bit of T10 this week
Professions: Enchanting and Tailoring, both 450/450. This was my first char, so when I started I thought it would be a good idea to be able to craft myself nice armour, especially if there would be pieces available only to the master crafters (this is usually a feat in most RPG's), hence why Tailoring was my first profession. Enchanting was mostly due to a lack of anything else viable on its own (most other crafting professions that would help - possible Blacksmithing to make myself a sword or dagger or Engineering to craft nifty trinkets - required another profession in order to level easier, the only exception being Enchanting; I also didn't want a gathering profession, since I didn't see any reason to take one (again, I had no idea how WoW worked so I didn't think gold would be an issue - and that proved true).

Raid Experience
I never experienced raiding pre-BC I was still slowly levelling (I like to enjoy the experience of levelling, no rushing) I was around level 50ish when BC came out.

Burning Crusade
Karazhan - Cleared
Gruul - Cleared
Magtheridon's Lair - Cleared
SSC - Cleared
TK - Cleared
MH- Cleared
BT - Cleared
Sunwell - I killed 5/6 and only a couple of attempts at Kil'Jaeden below 55% (I think it was Phase 3 or 4, depending on which strategy you read)

Wrath
Naxx - Cleared 10 & 25
Maly - Cleared 10 & 25
Sarth - Cleared 10 & 25 3 drakes for both
Ulduar - Before ulduar hit I took a break due to personal reasons, and I came back just over a week before totc was released so experience in ulduar is lacking.
TotGC - Cleared 10m & Tribute. 4/5 25 man
ICC - 8/9 10m. 7/9 25man

Previous Guilds
Well this all happened on Bladefist. The Most important guild at 70 was Bad News. All the progress fights I did were with them up until the guild disbanded, on Stormreaver. After the disband joined Dragonsblood Tribe, became an officer (not by choice as much as need) but people didnt take kindly to my and I was told to ease up and stop pushing them so hard, after that I kinda stopped caring and stuck around a few more weeks to see how things went. There was very little activity without me dragging them to naxx, I lost hope and announced that I was leaving, I decided that perhaps making a guild myself would be a good solution, I wanted to make a serious guild but unfortunately it didnt work out, mainly due the fact that we lacked level 80's to raid with. After speaking to an old friend who also used to be in Bad News, he convinced me that he would lead a guild that would match my ambitions. Progress was good but not great and that is why I ended up with a change of scenery I wanted to get the best from this game. I joined Deadfist one of the top guilds on Bladefist, I was in them for about a year and I can’t really say anything bad about them. At the time of leaving I think they were the 2nd best guild horde side on bladefist. As for why i left deadfist well quite a few of my mates played on bladefist but over the span of about 2-4 months ago they gradually stopped playing, i have a couple of r/l mates on Talnivarr which is a big reason im migrating here. The other big aspect of why i wanted a change of guild & server is that recently they opened bladefist up to free transfers and well what used to be a good server has really gone down hill since they did this. We seemed to lose all the good players and in return get a bunch of idiots, the server isnt what it once used to be.

Raid Times
As long as its planned I'd say I can attend 90-95% of all raids (I do value some things more than WoW)
Weekday’s im pretty much available anytime after 17:00
Weekends pretty much all day, if im busy ill give notice well in advance

Explain your talent choices
Well as you can see on armory both my talent specs are pve orientated, although i would call demonology "my main spec" There are different variations of demonolgy specs but 0/55/16 provides a good combination of both personal dps and raid buffs. Alot of people still don’t realise (although im sure you do, but i will mention it anyway) that demonology warlocks bring a great buff to the whole raid, Demonic Pact self buffed i have around 3600 SP (without trinkets/cloak Procs) so in a raid environment you are looking at anything above 4000sp which equals out to 400sp to the whole raid, I think the extra benefit to the raid is worth the small decrease in personal dps.
I pretty much have the main spec for demonology and the majority of my talents that i have chosen are self explanatory with the only difference being in the first tier of demonology, in my previous guild we had no warlocks with IMP Healthstone so i opted for that in the first tier.

Explain your typical skill rotation of the role you perform during raids
Ill list the rotations for both my specs.
Full Demonology: Much like alot of classes now warlocks have a priority system instead of a rotation. Depending on when Heroism will be used depends on if I use Metamorphosis at the beginning of the fight or not. Generally I will cast Curse of Elements or Agony depending on if elements is needed followed up with corruption & Immolate and then Shadowbolt spam until either Dots need refreshing or Molten Core procs, if Molten Core procs and dots are still ticking then I cast 3 Incinerates to consume the buff, when the target is below 35% shadowbolt/incinerate is replaced with Soul Fire. Obviously Metamorphosis has to be used throughout the fight and I always like to make sure I have it ready for when Hero is going to be used but usually I tend to use it early so it’s available again later also I have macros for all spells which have /cast Demonic Empowerment binded to them.

Afflicition: Like demo afflicition also has a priority list. Basically begin with a shadowbolt followed up with haunt, corruption, unstable affliction & curse of agony. If the target is >25% HP then shadowbolt is the filler until the dots need refreshing, if it’s less than 25% then drain soul is used. The reason for casting shadow bolt first is since it will add another shadow embrace stack to the target before u apply your dots as well as adding the crit debuff.

Why do you think we should recruit you?
Well although I want to play with my r/l friends I still want to 'see it all and do it all' I want to do the content, play the game and I want to do it the way it's meant to be done. I have heard nothing but good things about Numen and your ambitions match my own, im aiming beyond normal modes and at actual challenging fights, hard modes & achievements for bosses etc. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more dedicated then me (yes, I am bragging a bit, but this is the most I've bragged ever, I'm usually more subtle :D)

What am I looking for in Numen?
I want to raid everything (as much as possible) and do it efficiently. I don't care if we wipe, that's progress and that's what I expect. What im looking for is a bunch of people who have the same ambitions as me and aim to overcome what blizzard puts infront of us. I respect everyone for showing up on time, fully prepared and focused, and that is what im looking for.

User Interface
Image

It's pretty much the default Blizzard UI with no party or raid members shown on it. Also, the camera is maxxed out at 20 yards behind me, so I see quite a bit around me (relevant aoe, players getting too close etc). I also have Recount and Omen sized and placed exactly the same, so that when I'm in combat Omen is shown and when I'm not I see Recount instead (saves me some room on the screen). Other addons i use are Grid, DBM, Power Auras Classic & ForteXorcist

System Spec
C2D OC'd @ 3.6Ghz
4GB Ram
ATI 5850
Stable Connection (around 60-80ms) id rate it 9.5/10. Only gives me problems once or twice a year

Comunication
I have both ventrilo & teamspeak and i do have a working mic, although I am more of a typer than a talker. But i do like to offer my input when needed.

Hopefully the application pretty much says it all. On a final note im planning on faction changing tomorrow.

Declined. Insufficient hard mode experience, questionable gearing.
