If you don’t want to read the huge wall of text there is a “tl;dr” version with just the vital bits at the end.
About me
My name is Erik Delahorne, age 25, and live in Sweden. My family moved here from the US when I was 7 so I’m very fluent in English and Swedish as well. Currently I’m studying Mechanical Engineering, but this seldom ever effects my raiding. I like to think of myself as someone who gets along with almost everyone and like to enjoy the social aspects of the game. Although some might see me as easygoing, I like to set goals for myself and then drive myself to achieve them.
Except for WoW I haven’t played a lot of mmos except for brief stint in Guild Wars and Anarchy online. The only other games other than WoW I enjoy are ones that are brief but enjoyable, like Splinter Cell, Prototype or Prince of Persia etc.
WoW Gaming Experience
I Started playing back in vanilla, but nothing really serious. Started raiding at the start of TBC, and pretty much only on my priest. Was in Contingent, the only endgame guild on alliance side of Shattered Halls at the time, where I progressed as Holy thru SSC, TK and BT (only SWP action I saw pre lol-patch was downing Kalecgos, and later Brutallus and Felmyst after).
When Wotlk came out I was made officer, mainly in charge of healers. With a rather limited pool of raiders on alliance side we were able to down Sarth 3D 25 thanks to a few of us pushing the guild to wipe on it night after night until we finally succeeded. I stayed on as officer when the guild transitioned into Calamitous Intent, where we got several realm firsts, including doing Ignis on the first day of release before it got fixed as a result of us refusing to quit and move to other bosses.
Shortly into 3.2, after doing Beasts and Jaraxxus 25man Hc, due to low activity and several players leaving to horde side we moved to Ragnaros, where we quickly downed faction champions and twins 25 HC, and have done ICC 6/14 25 and 7/14 10-man with me effectively co-raid leading, and especially coordinating our healers. Only fights I haven’t seen currently are Algalon 25-man and Yogg+0, but know the tactics for them, and everything else of course.
Gaming Hours
Throughout my WoW “raiding career” I’ve been extremely active with almost 100% activity. During weekdays I’m usually on at least from 18:00 to 01:00, and even more on weekends. But even if I’m not logged in I’m usually always available on Ventrilo or MSN.
Connection/Computer
I have a 100mbit connection, and have never disconnected since I got it a few months ago.
My system has 4 GB ram, AMD Athlon X2 5000+, HD5670 1GB GDDR5, running on Windows 7.

I played as Holy throughout TBC, and switched between Holy and Disc when Wotlk started, but have pretty much stayed discipline since the spec was sorted out in 3.0.8. I have no problem playing as holy, but have really become fond of disc. It adds whole other dimension to healing, where the main goal isn’t to spam people that take dmg, and keep everyone’s hp toped up, rather the mindset is to save raid members from being 2-shot (on fights like faction champions), nuked down fast from AoE or encounter effects (like mark of the fallen champion on Saurfang) or even aggro from boss or adds (again like faction champions or Anub). And also help even out the dmg on tanks, or expected dmg on the raid, like phase 3 on Anub.
When I was holy most of time it was fun topping healing meters, but I’ve found it a lot more fulfilling being able to save people from dying at the last second, giving other healers time to top them back up again. So a lot of the time a discipline priests job is hardly noticeable but invaluable.
Other than throwing around pw:s like a madman I keep PoM on cool down almost all the time, help keep inspiration up on tanks, and when targets have weakened soul debuff, help out with regular healing using FH and penance or barrowed time GHs. On a lot of fights I give PI to ranged dps, usually a mage, unless I know I might need it myself. And on all fights there usually a time there a well placed divine hymn is needed, if an order is not decided beforehand. As for aoe healing disc can't always come close to the effectiveness of holy, but using PoM every cd, and doing pw:s, PoH, pw:s, PoH etc. one can come pretty close.
As for gemming I’m using Spirit/SP gems in blue sockets instead of Mp5/sp for the few time I do go holy, it helps holy more than it hurts Disc. Same goes for Int/Sp in yellow sockets; it helps both specs where Haste/sp or just Haste which has become popular only really helps holy.
I switched out tailoring for engineering as, both the Cloak and Glove enchant I feel are better than the Cloak enchant from tailoring, and also the Nitro Boots have both me, and raids several time, on fights like FC, and Anub, or even Yogg+1, where quickly getting away, or getting to a tank or raid member that is out of range could save a boss attempt. Also the engineering mana injectors are really nice, and Jeeves is helpful in speeding up wipe recoveries.

Why I want to join your guild
I want to play with other players that are as active as me, and want to progress and give 110% in raids. I’ve grown tired of feeling like I’m herding cats in raids, and for some time yearning to be a cog in a well functioning and active guild, willing to take orders, and focus on being the best raider I can be. Your guild seems like a place where I would fit in just fine.
As my position has often been co-leading raids, extra pressure has been put on me not to mess up in order to actually show everyone how it’s supposed to be done. This has lead to me always being on my toes when playing, and you rarely see me make mistakes. We are all human and can make mistakes, but you won’t see me make the same mistake twice, I always have my bags full with consumable and even enchanting mats or item enhancements so I can immediately upgrade my gear. I never mind wiping on bosses hours on end, and don’t mind being online late in extended raids to gets stuff done. I haven't spent much time on ptr, but will always look for comprehensive tactics and videos as soon as they’re put up.
Finally, I know it’s a bit unorthodox, and as an officer in guild also something frowned upon, but while this is a separate application, I am applying at the same time as Killahdude and Lummox, who have, or will be applying. Both are truly exceptional players, Killahdude is the best holy paladin I’ve ever played with, and Lummox is the best rogue, dpser and in general player I’ve played with, raid leading, dpsing, interrupting, organizing on the fly and doing all other minor stuff that was vital for our raids success.
