Numen application.

Killahdude – Holy paladin (X-realm from Ragnaros)

Incoming wall of text, if you scroll down there’s a short version with the essential information, if you just can’t be arsed reading my wall of text.

About me:
My name is Andreas Knutsson, I’m a 25 year old married man, living and working in Sweden. I play an 80 Dranaei Holy Paladin.

In real life, I’m working as a business analyst, dealing with private equity. I speak and write Swedish and English fluently. My work is based on me delivering what I need to deliver on a certain date, being ready to hold presentations for my superiors with business proposals and so on. This enables a very flexible working environment for me, as I can organize my work to make it fit my life. Thanks to this I am able to live a normal working life and combine in with hardcore gaming. So I usually play from 17.30 to 01.00. As a person, I am a quite driven; when I set my goal for something I’ll do what it takes to get there. I’m also very easy going person to deal with, I’m the guy who gets along with people and I’m the one who sits on vent even though I’m not even in the game.

Gaming experience:
I've always been quite competetive when it comes to gaming. The past few years I’ve had quite the interest in the Xbox Live Arcade-games being released each Wednesday on the Xbox 360, this cause of my competitive side. When they release the games there’s a constant race for whoever completes all the achievements first. I was world 2nd on Omega Five, as well as World First on E4. (http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/ ... 54072.aspx ) Then I have some minor achievements, being 1 out of 100 legit Black Belt Grandmasters in the game Mutant Storm Reloaded. This I believe shows that I’m kind of a sucker to competitive gaming. Anywho, enough with random talk of Xbox 360 – am I a WoW player too?

WoW Experience:
Yes, I am a WoW player too. Having played With Lummox on the Xbox for about 4 years, he decided to join his brother in playing WoW. In the summer of 2008 Lummox started his rogue while I was still in denial to this game. Later in November I fell for peer pressure and started my Paladin. Leveling up quickly to 64 I enjoyed it, but being newly married I had a break to get my life sorted, moving to a new apartment with wife and settling in with my job. In August-ish, I had my life back on track and it was time to start playing WoW again. I leveled up to 80 and got stuff going. From here on and forward, my time wasn’t spent on the xbox anymore, but I devoted my time to WoW !

Lummox, being an officer in an ulduar-farming guild at the time, helped me get the gear I needed for me to get a trial spot in their guild. Within a few weeks I had a steady raiding spot with them, and my experience and gear grew rapidly. By the time of the release of Anub in ToC I was a core raider and a valuable member, while the guild was hit by Quitters and “AFKers”. So by the time the heroic versions of ToC hit we were a bit crippled. We barely had enough people to get the 25man version going, but at least we got Tribute to Insanity in 10man a few weeks after the release. With the guild still struggling on a horrible server (Shattered Halls, Alliance side), a few of us decided it was time to do something about it. We migrated to Ragnaros and with Lummox and our healing officer Dessa they created Dark Matter on the Ragnaros realm with Lummox as GM.

From there we’ve been trying to build up a success, with a lot of people from the old realm joining us with the hopes of getting proper recruits from the new realm. We’ve had good progress, but due to players suddenly going AFK/quitting the game we’ve gotten ToGC25 4/5 and ICC 6/14 with our biggest crippling factor being having to gear up new people.

Gaming Hours:
As I expressed above, I regularly play from 17.00-ish and forward, and usually a few times a week I do most of my work before lunch and finish off the rest at home, meaning I’m around from 14-15 and forward. On Saturdays and Fridays I usually hang around ready for any random 10mans people might want to put on.

Computer and Connection:
I have a stable connection, 10 Mbit down / 1 mbit up. I’m usually around 50-70ms ingame. It rarerly dies since I recently upgraded to a new router (Linksys 610n) and a new modem from my ISP. The few times it has died it has been me actually physically pulling out the plug by mistake. I have now placed everything on a small table to avoid such… mistakes. I recently upgraded my computer system, I play WoW on a i5 quad core @ 2.67 ghZ, 4 BG RAM, HD5870 on windows 7. I play on Ultra High and it keeps 40-50 FPS in raids.

As you can see I’m yet another paladin going crazy for intellect. I see this as our strength, being able to smack out 25k heals on our beloved tanks for the full duration of the fight.. I’m specced into Divine sac for some smart damage prevention. And I put points in imp devo aura because our 10mans sometimes went without a druid healer, and the bonus healing on people affected by my aura was then quite beneficial.

I have a “Flash of Light”-set aswell, with 4pieces of tier9 and some nice spell power, though I’ve yet to properly use it. I also have 245-ish tanking gear with 41k unbuffed HP, and 245 and lower Retribution gear (5k+ish dps). I seldom play these speccs in raids, since I’m in love with healing. I mostly I help out tanking when needed, and switch to play retribution at times just to keep me updated on it.

I’ve got Alchemy and Jewelcrafting as my professions, JC for the obvious awesome gems and Alchemy since I like the personal gain, as well as I don’t have to look for hours for an alchemist able to do Flask of Distilled Wisdom (which is the flask I raid with).

From 25man ICC skipping professor and getting some attempts on blood princes first.

Why I want to join your guild:
If I managed to get my message across with the wall of text, I am quite a competitive gamer. I like the tension of going for something not easily done. My current guild consists of 5-10 likeminded people, who show up for every single raid with consumables on flasks enough to probably cover the whole raid. The rest of the guild is unfortunately built up on people who feel they can be carried through content. I’ve grown tired of pushing myself to the limit, while other people can’t be bothered. So basically what I’m looking for, with this application to Numen, is to play with people who think like me. I want to raid with 24 people who have read up on tactics, who’s prepared with consumables etc. Numen looks like it can offer me what I’m looking for!

What you’ll get from me is an active raider willing to do what it takes to progress as well as performing outstandingly in normal farm-raids. I come prepared in game with consumables, as well as IRL – my dog will not need a walk in the middle of the raid, I will not need a food break in the middle of the raid. I come fully prepared to do my part for the duration of the raid. Also since I come from being an xbox 360-player, where a headset is a must, I’m not afraid to be ready to speak and play my part on ventrilo. Of course being quiet in favor for officers and raid leaders, but I’ve got a microphone and I’m not afraid to speak when needed.

In closing I would like to add that I am looking to join your guild together with two other plays who have or will be applying, Lummox and Dessa. Lummox and I have got our history on the xbox, and we enjoy pushing ourselves together to reach hard goals. In WoW, he clearly pushes the damage meters and is constantly our best dps while still playing his part when it comes to interrupts/switching to dps adds etc. And then when I started playing WoW I got to know his brother Dessa, since he was basically in charge of healing coordination. He pushes me to the outmost limit when it comes to healing and is the best healer I’ve seen around this game. They are both dedicated and exceptionally good players and we all feel we three could individually be a great addition to your guild.
