I wish to apply for an open slot in your raid pool as a Priest (Holy/Disc).
Why have you decided to apply for Numen?
The whole process started with looking for European high-end guilds on http://www.wowprogress.com and I got stuck by your entry. I liked your announce and I felt that it totally referred to me. As I finished reading your expectations I recognized that everything fits perfectly and so I just started writing this application to you.
Info about my Character
My Night Elf Priestess Shaelynn is currently located at the German server Aegwynn.
This character’s got its own history. But I’ve got a bit larger one in the World Of Warcraft.
My History
Everything began with my Night Elf Rogue named Finrod on the Server Mal’Ganis. I started playing this character at the release of Vanilla (and even before in the Closed European Beta). Leveling and exploring the whole new world was a lot of fun; but right before reaching Level 60, my guild (Skill of Dragons) started over at another Server – but this time with Horde Characters. That’s why I lost my interest in playing a Rogue and started leveling a Priest. The name of that Priest was Aelorie. Reaching Level 60, I had the opportunity to choose between lots of guilds and soon started to raid with the guild Knights of Valor. We killed a lot of evil monsters and bosses. Ragnaros, Nefarian, Onyxia and C‘Thun. In Naxxramas we sadly just were able to clear the Spider Wing before the release of The Burning Crusade.
After the release we all wanted to be the first one to reach Level 70 – but a lot of our raiders gave up during the first levels because of the item inflation. That’s why I’ve decided to change my guild – because the old one simply didn’t exist anymore!
Within several days I was able to reach Level 70 and started to raid with my new guild (Synergy). Prince Malchezaar, Gruul, Magtheridon, Lady Vashj, Kael’Thas, Archimonde and Illidan had to end their life pretty fast and hand over their loot to us. Sadly, a lot of people in our guild were extremely focused on achieving loot and forgot about the fact that they need to kill bosses for loot – or even stronger bosses for even better loot. That’s why the guild lost a lot of members after the release of Sunwell – so we weren’t able to go further than Kalecgos pre-nerf, and Brutallus plus Felmyst post-nerf. We would’ve been able to kill more bosses in Sunwell, but the summer had cost us a lot of members, too, and so we had to raid with decelerated speed. After our Felmyst kill, our guild management called out a raiding-break until release of The Wrath of The Lich King.
New Addon, new Server. Together with some of my best ingame friends I decided to change the Server to explore a new community with guilds located in it, that are higher in the world ranking than the guilds of Mal’Ganis. So we transferred our characters to Eredar and hoped to be able to form a very successful, new, guild. We wrote an awesome announcement, built an extremely good looking homepage and generally spent a lot of time in creating a very special guild; but unfortunately almost 90% of the good players already were in a guild so we had a hard time to even form a 25-man Raid. I fulfilled the position of the Priest Classleader, Webmaster, Recruitment Officer and Guild/Raid Leader. It was a very special time I’ll never forget. Even though we had to accept over 70% of the applications we received, because of our lack of members, and 90% of them were very lazy and untalented players. But it was fun to create a whole new guild and to lead raids – even though its way harder to plan and lead raids with people you can’t really rely on, than to plan and lead raids with skilled and dependable player.
At the End of December we decided to disband the guild because we had a lot of 10-player raids – but just four 25-player raids – and that really sucked for a lot of us.
Some of our guild-members cancelled their subscription, some continued playing WoW guild less and some, including me, started to apply for a slot in another raid.
This time, I wanted to join a special guild. Not focused on a guild located on my server – a guild located in the highest ranks, compared to other guilds world-wide. After 2 days of applying “Utopie” liked my application, invited me for a Ventrilo interview – and told me that they would like to have me as one of their holy priest. I instantly transferred my character to Blackrock then and started raiding. Experienced the whole 3.0 Content, inclusive the hardest modes 3.0 had to offer (Sartharion 3D in 10 player as a single healer and with ‘beginner’ equip, The Immortal in Naxx25, several Naxx HM, Malygos Speedkill, and so on…). After two weeks my trial-phase was finished (two weeks earlier than usual) and so I was able to raid as a fully raid member. Then the PTR for 3.1 came and we spent raiding every day a boss spawned in Ulduar – and I always was part of it. We killed several bosses and then finally started to realize the same on Live-Servers. We cleared Ulduar and also did a lot of Hard modes, but I sadly missed all of the hard mode-achievements and Algalon, because I unfortunately had to do a World of Warcraft break because of my exams (started the break at the beginning of May). Thanks to my break, I passed my exams with good results, enjoyed my vacation in the US and started an apprenticeship as an IT-specialist. After all that stress/relaxing stuff was done, my hunger for World of Warcraft returned – but sadly there wasn’t any place left for a priest at my old guild – and that’s why I transferred my priest to Aegwynn (Horde) because of some co-workers that play World of Warcraft, too. But raiding with them was frankly very boring because they are not very talented ingame (I, of course, never missed a chance to tell them the same in RL ;)) and due to the free character transfer service they transferred to another server – and I switched my priest back to alliance.
I’m actually busy with being bored and frustrated by raiding with random raids. That’s why I’m not doing really a big progress. All of the 3.2 and 3.3 Content was achieved with random groups – so I really can’t give you great achievements there. But with the end of Patch 3.3 and the actual Addon, I want to change that. I want to raid successful again on a high competitive, international, level. And because of my love for the English language I looked primary for English-speaking guilds, found you, started to write this application, and now just finished my History part.

Like mentioned earlier:

I know that my equipment isn’t the best you’ve ever seen. But my equip is good enough for the whole content and my skill is far beyond that ;-)
Okay. But how does your „perfect“ equip look like? And what Talent Specialization do you prefer?
My Equip and Holy-Spec would look like this: http://www.chardev.org/?profile=338691
I also included my professions in that sheet.
You can find my Discipline-Specialization at my armory profile.
Holy
Tier 1
Healing Focus 2/2: A lot of ICC bosses are doing great AoE damage. I don’t want to lose casting time.
Holy Specialization: Extra Crit is always nice.
Imp. Renew 2/3: I Renew a lot, but spent the 3rd point in Healing Prayers for more mana – would exchange points with better equipment.
Tier 2
Spell Warding 5/5: Same with Healing Focus. I don’t want to take too much unnecessary damage. And in ICC I take a lot of it!
Tier 3
Inspiration 3/3: Nice for a tank to receive less physical damage.
Desperate Prayer 1/1: To reach Tier 5 and Self-Heal is nice for emergency situations.
Tier 4
Holy Reach 2/2: If my CoH and PoH have got a wider range – more get healed. Nice!
Tier 5
Healing Prayers 2/2: I use these two spells very often – so reduced mana costs is nice to have.
Spirit of Redemption 1/1: 5% more Spirit. Yay! To be able to heal while being dead? Yay!
Spiritual Guidance 5/5: A lot of Spirit = a lot of Spellpower! Great!
Tier 6
Surge of Light 2/2: A very very nice spell I always use when it proccs.
Spiritual Healing 5/5: 10% Extra Healing is nice.
Tier 7
Holy Concentration 3/3: Combined with Holy Specialization and some neat Crit: Awesome!
Blessed Resilience 3/3: 3% increased Healing on all Spells. Need that!
Tier 8
Serendipity 3/3: I urgently need that improved speed for Prayer of Healing. A great help!
Tier 9
Circle of Healing 1/1: This skill is on CD ;)
Empowered Renew 3/3: A stronger Renew with a little instant heal is a must have (I use renew a lot).
Test of Faith 3/3: Very nice, because a lot of targets are actually below 50% while Raid healing.
Tier 10
Divine Providence 5/5: That reduced PoM-Cooldown is awesome. Combined with extra heal a must-have talent.
Tier 11
Guardian Spirit 1/1: “Tank…. 5% HP?!? Oh F*!%!“ also nice for incredible high foreseeable damage.
Discipline
Tier 1
Twin Disciplines 5/5: Nice for my instants… like CoH.
Tier 2
Improved Inner Fire 3/3: More Spellpower. Who needs more Spellpower? Me!
Improved Power Word: Fortitude 2/2: These extra 4% Stamina could safe my life.
Tier 3
Inner Focus 1/1: Nice for expensive Spells like Divine Hymn and in general for mana-saving.
Meditation 3/3: Helps my mana-regeneration a lot!
Why didn’t you spec…
Divine Fury (Holy, T2)? Because I don’t use Greater Heal often/at all.
Improved Healing (Holy, T4)? Reduced Manacost for spells I rarely/never use? Never!
Lightwell (Holy, T7)? Actually… no one really uses it (effectively). So why spent a point in there? If it’s well known in your Raid – then I’d skill it.
Empowered Healing (Holy, T8)? These points are better spent in Blessed Resilience and Test of Faith, where ALL my spells are affected.
Body and Soul (Holy, T7)? Cleansing poison with my shield is nice – but not worth 2 Points. Especially when only I am affected.
Would you respect for our Raid?
Since I’m well experienced with all three talent specializations… this will never be a problem. Never.

More about me
My name is Simon. I’m 19 years old and I’m from Bavaria (Germany). I bet you know that state. It’s full with beer and we do celebrate the Oktoberfest all day (No, not really).
I’m living in a single apartment due to my apprenticeship. That’s why I’m able to plan everything on my own without being affected by my parents.
My Hobbies are Acting (Youth), going to the Cinema, listen to (good) music and (Warning: Surprise!) World of Warcraft.
Raidtimes (CET)
Mo-We: 17.00 – Midnight.
Th&Fr: 20.00 – Midnight.
Sa: 14.00 – Midnight.
Su: Midnight – 18.30
Technical Details about your hardware
My ping is very good during raiding (about 50ms on German realms – don’t think that this would be any different on the English ones). Minimum 30 FPS during raiding and my Headset works perfect (Sennheiser) with an awesome sound quality (*advertise* *advertise*). Ventrilo, TS2, TS3, Mumble – I know and can handle all of them.
Why are you the best for Numen and what are you expecting from us?
That I’m the Mr. Right for Numen, proofs my versatile knowledge around World of Warcraft and, especially, priests.
I often read a lot of interesting postings in the EJ and official WoW-Forum to stay up-to-date and get to know the latest numbers and facts about everything.
I know all the three talent trees perfectly and how to use them raid-wisely.
I also always want to get out the maximum of my character – with my Equip, Play style and charm ;-)
Additionally I’m very active and I’m always best prepared for all kind of raids. Due to my past as a raid leader I know how to get to know all bosses which aren’t even out yet and am able to explain the tactic to everyone; even if I would never have visited that boss. I can handle criticism and am able to convert it into something useful.
I learn pretty fast and if I should make a mistake, I will never do the same mistake again.
Because I’m so fascinated about World of Warcraft, Healing, the Players and the Harmodes/Raid-Achievements you can count on me as a player that would like to stay in your guild and hunt all the Worldwide First kills until the servers will be turned off.
What I’m expecting from you, is a guild with a skilled and experienced Leadership, that’s got a structured overview over their guild&raid.
Additionally I hope to meet like-minded people, which also want to get out the maximum out of their characters and do also play like that.
Aha… sounds nice! But can you proof it?
Because I’m not in a guild actually, I just can give you these WoL-Entries I recorded for my application. I’d love to show you a better one (Newer ICC Bosses, TotGC), but it’s not that easy as a guildless player.
